Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant - U.S. Clients

We’re Basta & Company, a San Francisco-based CPA firm serving construction, real estate, and other small businesses across the U.S.

This is not a traditional bookkeeping role.

We use QuickBooks Online along with modern cloud and AI accounting tools, including Digits, Double, ChatGPT, and other software as our systems continue to evolve.

We’re looking for someone with a solid accounting foundation who is also resourceful, curious, self-driven, and comfortable figuring things out.

A lot of our onboarding and training is self-directed through recorded videos, YouTube tutorials, written instructions, and online resources. We want someone who can learn a new tool, research solutions, ask smart questions when needed, and keep moving without needing constant supervision.

Main Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and month-end close for U.S. clients

Bank and credit card reconciliations

Transaction review and cleanup

Month-end adjustments and financial reporting support

Client communication by email and video

Learning new cloud accounting and AI tools

Improving internal processes and workflows

Taking ownership of assigned client work

Requirements

Accounting degree

3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience

Strong conversational and written English

Experience working with U.S. clients or U.S. companies

Familiarity with QuickBooks Online

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Comfortable learning new software independently

Familiarity with ChatGPT, Claude, or similar AI tools

Resourceful and comfortable researching solutions

Organized, dependable, and able to work independently

Deep expertise in every software tool is not required. Communication, initiative, ability to learn, and problem-solving are very important for this role.-Requerimientos- Educación mínima: Universidad / Carrera técnica
