· Role Summary: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Drayage Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in drayage operations and be comfortable coordinating drivers, carriers, loads, pickups, and deliveries in a fast-paced transportation environment. This role is responsible for ensuring loads are dispatched and completed efficiently, maintaining accurate shipment information, communicating with clients and transportation partners, and proactively addressing any issues that may affect pickups or deliveries.
· Responsibilities: Maintain professional and timely communication with clients, drivers, carriers, and internal teams. Respond to inquiries, provide shipment updates, address customer concerns, and resolve issues or complaints effectively. Coordinate and dispatch loads, drivers, vehicles, and carriers according to customer requirements, ensuring pickups and deliveries are scheduled within the required timeframes. Review load details and special instructions, coordinate pickups and deliveries, track shipments, and ensure all transportation requirements are completed successfully. Maintain accurate records and timely updates in TM3, Airtable, client portals, and other systems, including required paperwork, shipment status, and final documentation. Plan efficient routes and coordinate transportation activities to support timely and cost-effective deliveries. Monitor shipments and proactively address delays, discrepancies, missed appointments, additional charges, and other operational issues, keeping clients informed throughout the process. Work closely with warehouse teams, logistics staff, administrative teams, carriers, drivers, ports, rail facilities, and other external partners to ensure smooth operations. Ensure transportation activities follow company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations, and coordinate vehicle maintenance when needed. Follow shipments from dispatch through final delivery, ensuring all required actions, documentation, updates, and charges are completed accurately and on time. Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors and managers.
· Qualifications: Direct experience in drayage logistics or transportation dispatching is required. Experience coordinating drivers, carriers, pickups, and deliveries. Strong understanding of drayage operations, container transportation, ports, terminals, and/or rail facilities. Experience tracking shipments and managing transportation loads. Familiarity with TM3, Airtable, client portals, or similar transportation/logistics systems. Strong knowledge of shipping, transportation documentation, and load management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Proactive problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment. Highly responsive and comfortable communicating with drivers, carriers, clients, and internal teams.
