We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated Legal Assistant with a solid legal background to join our growing Personal Injury practice on-site in Colombia or Mexico.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 60 to 80 personal injury cases at various stages, ensuring clients receive exceptional support from intake to settlement. You will handle claim openings, gather investigative and medical documentation, maintain steady communication with clients and medical treatment managers, write detailed case summaries, and draft demands and petitions using firm templates.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM PST
Key Responsibilities
Case & Portfolio Management: Manage 6080 personal injury files through all stages of pre-litigation and settlement.
Insurance & Investigation Setup: Initiate insurance claims for involved parties and coordinate with firm-hired Private Investigators to obtain background checks, driving records, policy searches, and social media records.
Document Gathering: Proactively collect hospital discharge paperwork, IDs, prior medical history, and past claim records to build the clients file as quickly as possible.
Client & Provider Relations: Update clients regularly via phone, email, and text; collaborate with Medical Treatment Managers to track treatment progress and balances.
Case Storytelling & Drafting: Synthesize intake information into comprehensive case summaries, and draft demand letters to insurance companies and legal petitions using provided templates.
CRM Logging: Maintain meticulous records in the case management software so all team members stay aligned on case status updates.
Mandatory Qualifications (Hard Requirements)
Legal Background Required: Minimum 6 months of experience as a Legal Assistant OR a verified legal background/education in law.
On-Site Presence: 100% availability to work in-office/on-site in Colombia or Mexico.
Language Skills: Advanced written and verbal English proficiency (C1). Strong narrative writing skills to tell the clients story clearly.
Schedule Alignment: Ability to work full-time during PST business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST).
Prior experience handling Personal Injury (PI) cases in the U.S. legal system.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently to drive case progression.-Requerimientos- Educación mínima: Universidad / Carrera Profesional
